The Alexander Technique

 with Deborah Coote

Workshops

Workshops are designed for those who would like to know more about the Technique and may be thinking about taking individual lessons. As well as covering the key principles of the Alexander Technique they give practical advice on how we use and misuse ourselves. They are practical and fun, and numbers are restricted to allow plenty of opportunity for individual hands-on and to keep the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.

There are two types of workshops: a full day (usually from 10am to 3pm) or half day (from 10am to 1pm).

  • History of the Technique

  • Demonstrations and activities

  • Hands-on work

  • Discussion and questions

  • Video

The workshops are ideal for people who are not sure whether or not they will benefit from the Alexander Technique.

"I was encouraged to go on a workshop by a friend and I was very sceptical about the results as I had tried a few Alexander before with little success. I have suffered with tension headaches for over 8 years and have tried every treatment available. Deborah’s 3 hour workshop made me realise that I have to take control of it, and I went away from the workshop with practical ideas to try out. Everyone on the workshop had come for different reasons and sharing that information was important in explaining how Alexander works on different conditions.

I have been having lessons with Deborah since the workshop and I feel better and more positive than I have in years. Although it is a long road, the workshop gave me a good introduction and getting to know your teacher is really important in making the changes in your  life.” Sally

The next half day workshops, costing £35, are:-
